What is Kalki Avatar?Kalki Avatar, for Hindus, is the avatar for this coming age or Yuga, and is synonymous with Krishna. Hindus expect an avatar -- they have the doctrine of avatars who come cyclically, age after age. In the West Jesus is seen as a 'one-off' event: God made flesh, who came specifically for a particular group. In fact, there has never been an age without an avatar. Hindus await a reincarnation of Krishna. Maitreya overshadowed Krishna, so as far as Hindus are concerned, Maitreya is Kalki Avatar, the avatar for this coming age, the "age of righteousness", which indeed it will be. It is the age in which for the first time on a mass scale the spiritual essence of humanity demonstrates; in which humanity realizes, experiences itself, as one, and therefore creates structures which will demonstrate that oneness. It will also see itself not only as one but as whole, intrinsically part of its environment. There will come a time when humanity will see that humanity, God, and nature are one and the same; there is no separation between any of these. That sense of wholeness, eventually, humanity en masse will know, not just as an intellectual idea but as direct experience. Krishna, or Kalki Avatar, comes at the end of this "dark age", Kali Yuga. Though not everyone would agree that Kali Yuga, the "dark age", has ended, the great Teacher, Sai Baba, in south India, has said that the dark age is over; Swami Premananda has said the same thing; my Master has confirmed that it is now ending. So it is now possible for Kalki Avatar, "the rider on the White Horse", to come. Benjamin Creme in Share International Q. (1) Is the Tibetan figure Gesar whom Tibetans expect to return as a teacher and enlightener another name for Maitreya? (2) Does Tibetan Buddhism also look for the return of Maitreya Buddha, knowing Him as Maitreya? Recently the relics and birthplace of Gautama Buddha were found in Nepal, and are now officially recognized as such. (3) Was it planned (by Hierarchy?) that the Buddha's birthplace should come to light now to coincide with the public appearance of Maitreya Buddha? (4) Is it part of Tibet's karmic role to keep sacred and protected the more esoteric knowledge and ancient mysteries; to preserve intact ageless wisdom which might otherwise have been lost or damaged? (5) Tibet seems to have a very particular role to play and contribution to make to the world community, does it not? A. (1) Yes. (2) Yes. (3) No. (4) No. (5) Yes, but not as the preserver of ancient mysteries. It is an example of extraordinary long-suffering patience and loving understanding in the face of difficulties. Q. What is meant by "mother of the world"? (1) Is this an avatar? (2) A being from another planet? (3) A highly evolved entity? (4) Is she in visible human form? (5) What is her role? (6) What is her relationship with Sanat Kumara? (7) What is the difference between: "the Divine Mother", "the Mother of the World" and "Mother Earth"? A. (1) No. (2) Originally, yes. (3) Yes. (4) No. (5) She embodies the Mother or nurturing aspect. (6) She is His Shakti. (7) They are the same. Q. Is it true that Maitreya will be speaking through all of humanity? A. Maitreya will not be 'speaking' through humanity, but will work in terms of changing the world through humanity. In so far as the Christ Principle is awakened in your heart, He can work through you; He can stimulate and galvanize you to the degree that that Principle is manifest in you, so that what you do is the result of your response to His teaching, His energy, His ideas -- but you do the actual work. The more you act in relation to the world and for the world, the more that energy will flow to you: if you take one step to Him, He will take 12 steps to you. He
manifested Himself by mentally overshadowing Krishna as Avatar for the age of Aries and
through Jesus as Avatar for the Piscean age. Maitreya's consciousness entered that of
Jesus & Krishna and guided Their words & deeds. Two thousand five hundred years
ago, the Buddha worked through His disciple, Prince Gautama and Gautama became known as
Gautama Buddha. This is the age-old way for the manifestation of the Teacher. He also
manifested Himself as Sankaracharya. This time, He is manifesting as Himself, not through
a disciple. He inhabits an indestructible, self-created body (mayavirupa) which we will
