The century's end
Men are becoming increasingly aware that we are fast approaching the century's end. In such a situation, they also look for signs and portents, warnings and revelations. The communication networks merrily ply their trade, combining truth with fantasy, fact with fiction, hope with fear. In the wings, Maitreya stands ready to emerge, to end the speculation and to renew men's faith in their own divinity and worth. On all sides, the signs are indeed in evidence, clear indications that the 'age of miracles' has no end. Few can deny the profusion of signs which, daily, occur, pointing, however obliquely, to the miracle in our midst. Soon the world will know for certain that the Son of Man is indeed among His people, that the long wait is over, that the Teacher is ready to begin, openly, His Mission, and that a new way beckons men forward to their destined future. Very little time now separates men from their recognition of the Teacher's Presence. Theirs is the task to evaluate His worth to their cause, and to align themselves with His endeavour. That humanity will not be found wanting is not in doubt. Despite all evidence to the contrary, men are ready -- indeed, longing -- for change, for a restatement of the reality of Brotherhood and Justice, for the necessity of Harmony and Peace. Thus will men respond to the call of Maitreya for these ancient symbols, now translated into practice. Naught, then, can halt the progress to the future, the establishment of right relations between the peoples of all the nations. Then will unfold a Plan, daring yet simple, complex yet clear, ancient yet radiantly modern, for the restoration of men to their predestined path to perfection. Many of Those Who have trodden this self-same Path are now among you, ready to assist and guide to the limits of the Law. We know well your problems and fears, and seek to comfort and inspire. When men see Us, they will see Those Who have known, too, men's every anguish and pain, humiliation and joy, yet Who have succeeded in surmounting these perennial obstacles on the Way, and are the guarantors of men's equal achievement. Give Us your trust and allow Us to aid and guide you. Learn from Us the ways of God which can become the ways of men. We are your brothers; older, wiser, but otherwise the same. We have come into your midst as brothers and friends; see Us thus and let us journey together into the golden future which awaits our fashioning.
