Cooperation - the keynote
As we move towards the century's end, many await that event with apprehension and disquiet. They sense the changes which, tradition holds, accompany such turning-points, and think of the future with fear and dread. This, it must be said, is a short-sighted view indeed. That there are and will be changes is manifestly true -- powerful forces exert their influence on every level and in every sphere; but the cataclysmic chaos so oft heralded today bears no relation to the coming transformation. Step by careful step, the new forms, as they find support, will alter the shape of societies world-wide. Thus, only, will a new pattern be imposed on the decaying fabric of the past. As men see the logic and experience the benefit of the new ways, the momentum of change will quicken until, on all sides, a crescendo is reached and a new world is born. Thus will it be. Thus will the promise of the new overcome the inertia of the old. Brotherhood To make this possible have We, your Elder Brothers, taken the decision to work openly among men. This process is now well under way and for many years has Our Brotherhood worked among you. Soon you will see the results of Our work as We prepare Our disciples for service. Soon will they emerge and define the new approaches to planetary living and peace. Cooperation Cooperation is the keynote. Today's emphasis on competition, allowed to flourish unchecked, would lead to ultimate destruction. Thus will you see the banner of cooperation raised on every side, inspiring men to work together for the restoration of our world. Naught but cooperation can solve men's problems, manifold and complex as they are; naught but cooperation can heal the old and still-tender wounds inflicted by men on men; cooperation alone can guarantee a sane and peaceful future acceptable to all. Soon, Maitreya, Himself, will add His voice to the clamour for change. Soon, the world will realize that the New Time has begun: the time of sharing, of justice and peace. Soon, the voice of Maitreya will echo round the world: "Share, and enter into harmony"; "Share, and know the purpose of life"; "Share, and secure the future for all." Thus will He speak, thus will be His Call. Cooperate, and test the truth of His message. Work together for the benefit of all and know the radiance of His love.
