Between 1988 and 1993 Maitreya, the World Teacher, released a series of forecasts and analyses of the current state of the world, as well as fragments of His teachings. Through one of His close associates in the Asian community of London, these were released to Share International for publication and were sent to the world’s media as press releases. Phrased in the words of His associate, Maitreya’s spiritual teachings are arranged here by subject in the hope of facilitating the reader’s study and application in daily life.

Maitreya's teachings
Fear, fearlessness and fundamentalism

Fragments of Maitreya's teachings as to how to live a life free of these destructive poisons. (855 words)

Maitreya says: “Do not be afraid or upset. I am with you now. I have come to help you realize that the mind, spirit and body are the temples within which you realize Supreme Being. You are not these, for the Self is above them and teaches Itself how best to use them.” (Share International, November 1989)

The conditioned fears the unconditioned. Whoever harbours conditioned teaching will feel fearful. The unconditioned is fearless. (Jan/Feb 1990)

Maitreya says: “Do not create fear in the minds of innocent children. Fear is poison.” (Sep 1988)

As the dawn of togetherness comes closer, evil forces will try to ensure that this dawn does not arise; again, through fear. (Nov 1990)

Maitreya says: “No one need fear, because I am with you. Without the Lord, there is no creation. It is the heritage of one and all to experience the Lord’s creation and enjoy the blessings of life, which are peace, bliss and happiness in which there is no fear.” (Nov 1990)

Maitreya says: Look at the mind, spirit and body of a little baby, which is honest, sincere and detached. The baby in his innocence likes to walk everywhere, without fear. Everyone has passed through this stage of fearlessness.

In adult life one becomes aware, with knowledge and wisdom, that if one becomes egoistic during the process of struggle between good and bad, right and wrong, then the shadow of fear is cast upon one. But if one is detached and humble, one becomes free of this shadow of fearfulness. (Nov 1990)

Your destiny is to inherit the wealth and health the Lord has bestowed upon you. Look within and then look out. Fear no one. (Nov 1990)

Sacrifice

Maitreya says: “To realize Me involves no sacrifice. One has to experience whatever is in creation. To understand and experience Me is the destiny of everyone. The gurus, saints and religious leaders who talk in terms of sacrifice to realize the Lord are not speaking the Truth. To know Me is not to sacrifice one’s self. To know Me is to realize one’s Self.” (Sep 1990)

“No one has the right to kill in the name of spirituality,” Maitreya says. “To know Me is to realize Me. There is no sacrifice involved of any kind.” (Jul/Aug 1990)

God does not need sacrifice. He does not need pleasing, or charity or compassion. He does not need people to be ‘good’.

God says: “I am neither good nor bad, this or that. I am everything. Why have heaven and hell? Enough is enough.” (Sep 1990)

Fundamentalism

There is no place for fundamentalism in the New Age.

In the New Age there will be an aura of consciousness, an awareness, an inner openness which enables people to look within for peace, grace and happiness.

‘Isms’ lead to self-destruction. All types of temptation can be found in ‘isms’; corruption, duplicities and dishonesty in life all come from ‘isms’. People who indulge in fundamentalisms (ie whether these be economic, religious or political) either run away or, if they remain stuck, destroy themselves. (Jan/Feb 1992)

Maitreya says: “Why emphasize your nationality? Who is saying ‘I am English, I am Indian’, etc? Not the Self, but the ego.” That is why Maitreya says: “Be what you are.” (This means you, the Self, not mind, spirit or body.) (Mar 1990)

Fundamentalism in the name of Christ is also counter-productive. Christ is Oneness. Maitreya says: “Do not take donations from the poor while you, the leaders, live in luxury.” (Dec 1991)

Anything you glorify leads ultimately to destruction. If you glorify God in terms of any ‘ism’, you create ‘crusades’ in mind, spirit and body. Instead of creating harmony and equilibrium, you create issues of ‘high’ and ‘low’. The moment you glorify, ask yourself who is glorifying and whom you are glorifying? (Sep 1989)

Maitreya says: “In this world, the moment anything becomes institutionalized it loses its divinity. Any karma (activity) which becomes institutionalized is undivine. Anything and everything in creation is in its evolutionary form which is non-institutional, which embraces every station and department of life.

“In an institution, any activity (karma) which is without the rudder of freedom is like a blind man in the world, feeling his way but unable to see things.”

Maitreya adds: “A station is where there are passengers, trains, many communications taking place. A department is where this becomes institutional. Institutions, stations, departments are important, but they should have their rudder of freedom in order to evolve.” (Sep 1992)

If you say: “My way is right; what others experience is not right,” you create destruction. People experience the Lord in different ways. Do not judge others. Judge situations and become aware, but remain detached. (Apr 89)

[Maitreya says:] “How can one person judge another, tell them what they should not do, and then go ahead and do it themselves?” (Jun 1989)

Maitreya says that no one can judge another and sentence him to death. (Apr 1989)

When you judge, saying, ‘I am right. You are wrong,’ you are caught in the web of attachment. (Jan/Feb 1990)
