How will you know Maitreya, and why does He come at the "eleventh hour"? (927 words)

Knowing Maitreya

Maitreya is in you and you are in Him. (Share International, Apr 1990)

Maitreya’s message is: I am giving you one of the easiest ways to know me:
Be honest in your mind
Be sincere in your spirit
Feed your body with right food.
Then your awareness will grow. In anything you do with a sense of detachment, if it is a natural course of action, I am with you. But attachment, possessiveness, is undivine. There I cannot be with you. (Jun 1988)

If you want to know me you have to give up everything. Whatever you experience in life, always have detachment and you will remain with me, because you are not attached to anything. (Jun 1988)

“To start with, I come to you ‘like a thief in the night’,” Maitreya says, “so that you will not become too excited. Slowly, as you become aware, you can ‘digest’ what is ‘eaten’. In awareness you will know Me. In ‘isms’ you will fight against Me.” (Jun 1989)

“So far I have been acting behind the scenes, with my hands concealed, in order to give room to those in authority to change their ways and to serve the will of the people. But now the time is imminent when I will have to raise my hand so that people can converge on Me and look towards Me for guidance.” (Nov 1990)

Maitreya says: “To realize Me involves no sacrifice. One has to experience whatever is in creation. To understand and experience Me is the destiny of everyone. The gurus, saints and religious leaders who talk in terms of sacrifice to realize the Lord are not speaking the Truth. To know Me is not to sacrifice one’s self. To know Me is to realize one’s Self.” (Sep 1990)

Maitreya says: “Do not glorify Me. If you try to glorify Me you create nothing but confusion and chaos in mind, spirit and body. Instead, know that I am within you. It is the Self which must experience the Lord in thought, speech and action.” (Sep 1989)

Maitreya says: “Look within and you will find that I am within you, guiding you always.” (Nov 1989)

Maitreya says: “No one can understand Me, but they can experience Me. I am your defender and sustainer. Your destiny is to inherit the wellbeing and health the Lord has bestowed upon you. Look within and then look out. Fear no one.” (Nov 1990)

The last time He came, He was nailed to a cross. This time He cannot yet be found, but that does not mean He is afraid.
“I cannot be destroyed,” the Master has told the politicians. “My army is everywhere, in every nation and individual, for I am in the hearts of one and all.” (Jan/Feb 1991)

Maitreya often says: “I do not want you to believe in me. I want you to experience me. Doubts make a person weak.” (Jan/Feb 1991)

Maitreya says: “Those who doubt Me will find I will come before them and talk to them.” After a few days they may realize something has taken place. (Nov 1990)

Maitreya says: “I am the nectar. I am the poison. The moment you realize you are not mind, spirit and body, not even the life force, that is immortality. At that stage you can take charge of your own destiny. You are a spark of the Almighty.”
“I am with everyone,” Maitreya says, “as much with a prostitute as with a so-called saint. I never give up anyone.” (May 1991)

Maitreya says: “I am involved with everyone. The day you experience My presence you will realize the truth. Detachment will grow. The Self does not involve itself with praise and blame. Do not praise Me. You do not have to please Me. Please yourself by respecting your Self.” (Oct 1991)

Maitreya says: “If you take one step towards Me, I will take two steps towards you. I will lend you My strength. I am always with you.” (Mar 1992)

It is difficult for people to understand that although Maitreya is among us no one can ‘deliver’ Maitreya. Maitreya Himself says: “Without disturbing anyone, I will choose My moment.” (Dec 1990)

The eleventh hour

Maitreya says: “I come at the eleventh hour to save My sparks of life. The sparks of life are each and every individual Self. If someone is in trouble and he is My disciple, I come to console and guide him.” (“My disciple” is one who applies the teaching.) (Sep 1989)

The difference between the eleventh and twelfth hour is such that it can transform the course of evolution. According to Maitreya’s associate, He who comes with the powers of the Lord comes at the eleventh hour to reveal and redeem. We are all waiting. The eleventh hour is not far off. (Jan/Feb 1992)

Maitreya says: “I come at the eleventh hour.” Maitreya explains this through the symbolism of numbers: eleven (11) is understood as one plus one (1+1). Therefore, “At the eleventh hour there is none except you and Me.”

At the twelfth hour Creation began. Twelve (12) is understood here in its symbolic meaning of one plus two (1+2). In effect this makes three, the Trinity. In the East the Trinity is known as Shiva-Vishnu-Brahma. In the West it is the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

Maitreya says: “When there is none except you and Me, everything dissolves around you. There is tranquillity, peace, grace. All karmas (conditioned activities) cease.” (Mar 1992)
