Between 1988 and 1993 Maitreya, the World Teacher, released a series of forecasts and analyses of the current state of the world, as well as fragments of His teachings. Through one of His close associates in the Asian community of London, these were released to Share International for publication and were sent to the world’s media as press releases. Phrased in the words of His associate, Maitreya’s spiritual teachings are arranged here by subject in the hope of facilitating the reader’s study and application in daily life.

Light is the spectrum of total creation. (Sep 1990)

In light there is total creation. Light is the mother of creation. The ‘beginning’ and the ‘end’ are in light. (Sep 1990)

The relative and the absolute are the two sides of Light. (Sep 1988)

Maitreya says: “The universe comes forth from Light. Each and every soul is just a spark of that Light. When that spark of Light comes closer to the whole Light, it merges.” (Sep 1988)

The same Light which is in the spine of a snake is in the spine of a man. (Sep 1988)

All living cells are interconnected, with Light between them. Every atom is interconnected with the Light. The time will come when we can transform that Light. What happens? The body dematerializes. Adepts and Masters can do this. One day you will be able to do it. Matter can be transported from one place to another through Light. Thus the astral body of one who has departed can materialize. This is the power of Light. In time, scientists will be able to understand these processes, these laws of nature. When you become aware, conscious and detached, you will not manipulate these laws for selfish ends. Your mind will become stable. You will not struggle. Awareness creates a different kind of knowledge and wisdom. (Apr 1989)

Scientists are learning to master the Technology of Light, sometimes called by Him [Maitreya] “the bright light”. When you look at the bright light through the third eye, it energizes you the moment you touch it.

In the physical body, the seat of this light is the pineal gland and it is from here that all the functions of the body are controlled. When this light leaves, you are no longer there. When you bring the bright light back to the body, it is resurrected.

Up until now, only yogis and gurus have mastered the art of directing this bright light, at the mental and spiritual levels. Yet these are not ‘godly powers’. (Mar 1992)

There are people who have experienced leaving their physical bodies. They speak of going through a tunnel, a dark hole. This is because what we call darkness is in the Supreme Being. When the Self returns to its 30 per cent domain, the sensation is of moving from light to darkness. This is because where the Self rests there is no movement.

Wherever there is light, there is creation. Without light there is no creation. Many scientists speak of a Big Bang. At this point, light emerged. Through colours, vibrations and sounds creation emerged. (Jul/Aug 1990)

Maitreya asks: “If you meditate on light, the alpha and omega of creation, where will you end up? In creation. You can experience psychic, spiritual, mental and magical powers. Does this lead to freedom and salvation? No.

“Why does no one speak like this? Because those who have meditated on light then need people around them, followers. When you are looking for freedom and salvation, why meditate on light? With the mind, you will arrive at the technology of light. With the spirit, you will develop spiritual powers. You can even do miraculous things. But this time, I have come to teach you freedom and salvation.” (Sep 1990)

The young know where the power is: it is not in the bullet but in the heart, which is the source of light. Life comes into the body with light and lies in the heart. The body is able to function while the light is there. That is why Maitreya says that whoever controls light controls life. (Jul/Aug 1989)

One can understand how to use and control this technology. But do not become attached even to Light or you will be carried away. No one can claim this Light. (Jun 1989)

One should not be attached to Light; it is like beauty, to be appreciated. The universe, created by the Creator, is in that Light. (Mar 1990)
